Marvelous Monday!

Tra la la.. la la la... ding dong tra la la....

Awww mannnn I'm feelin so good right now. While enjoying my absolutely healthy bfast smoothie, the postman came with a package for me!! :)

Beauty products! Oh, which girl don't twirl at that.
I've got one whole box full of facial masks (from Aus and Taiwan)(and yes, I'm almost broke)and I just know how I'm gonna spend my whole afternoon today - taking pics of course! Those beautiful packagings.... wondering if it'll break my heart ripping off those packagings. Hmmmm.. shall see tonite, eh?

~ I'm marvelous, I'm marvelous, its marvelous... aww aww aww..~

I love shopping. I believe I was born to shop. I dream of shopping most of my waking hours. If something catches my eyes, the next thing ya know, I'll be Googling it and then drooling over it. Crave and crave and crave till I go home with it. Then GUILT seeps in... ouch!!!

I went to Borders today. My significant other did in on purpose! :P
So tempting me into it. I end up buying a few items:

- Cosmopolitan July 09 (UK Edition) -> my staple read hehe.
- Better Homes & Garden: Smoothies -> for the health freak in me.
- The Nearly Weds, by Jane Costello -> I love the cover, chick lit-ish.
- 10 Reasons Not To Fall in Love, by Linda Green -> the title was the culprit. I'm a sucker for lovey dovey reads.

See if I'm hardworking enuf to upload those pics.. Hehe may take a while though.
Planning to read tomorrow (yay! no work on a Monday!) if I don't end up doing imaginative house chores.

Ok, I'm off now to be with my Cosmo!

Laters!

Coffee, Anyone?

I was never a fan of coffee. The mere whiff of coffee could easily gives me headache.
I'd feel wuzzy and heavy headed. And if at work, I'd be silently cursing the poor soul who drinks it. (Uhh no offence; but when I feel hammered I can't help turning into a mean monster).

Just recently I've been dipping my feet into the Coffee World.. I'd take small sips here and there, and found myself feeling okay. Also, blame my aging body.. I now need at least 7 hours of uninterrupted sleep every night. Or the next day I'll be begging to go home 5 mins after I sat my butt down in the office.

And guess what? I had black coffee for bfast this morning. DB was giving me the "huh?" look... bitter yes. But I was mentally hoping my black cuppa would do me some good.. say..:

- Burn Calories: If coffee is consumed on an empty stomach first thing in the morning before a workout, it can boost endurance and prolong fatigue, which aids in fat loss. (REALLY?!?)

- It was said that drinking coffee regularly can also help prevent some forms of diabetes, Parkinson’s disease, liver and colon cancers.

- Coffee can prevent constipation (oh really now...)It is a powerful stimulant for peristalsis.

So enough said; I proceeded to buy myself 50 packs of black coffee, hahahha.
Dear God, pls don't turn me into a coffee addict... :)

Yoga For My Tummy

Yogi tea, also called masala tea, is used to warm and stimulate digestion after a meal, as well as nourish the body, mind, and spirit. Yogi tea consists of four primary spices: cardamom, ginger, long pepper, and cinnamon.

Cardamom and ginger are considered sattvic, believed to stimulate spiritual purity. They also help reduce mucus, calm the stomach, and eliminate toxins. Long pepper helps reduce pain and rejuvenates tissue. Cinnamon is similar to cardamom and is also good for the circulation and the heart.

Everyone seems to have a favorite yogi tea recipe, but here is a basic one to try:

Boil two quarts of water. Add one-half tablespoon long pepper, one heaping tablespoon cardamom seeds, six sticks of cinnamon, and four slices of fresh ginger root, peeled.

Reduce the heat and let the spice mixture simmer for 30 minutes. Add one and one-half teaspoons black tea and then let steep for no longer than 10 minutes. Strain and add milk, honey, or maple syrup to taste.

Spring Clean In & Out...

Hmmmm 1st of the month is always the easiest to start something new. So today I'm starting on a 7-day detox; to see if the sluggishness kapoof away..

9.50am - first dose of Juvanex with a pear, and 3 cups of water. FULL!!
(the pear this time is sweet, well done Tesco!)

10.17am - a slight churn but I hope nothing serious till I get home.. I'm killing time blogging waiting for BF to come pick me.. :)

Uhmmm I've got nothing to rant about at this mo... so... :|

A'bientot!

12.19pm - Ooh la la, I did feel a lil dizzy... and mind you, you do pee alot!
Trying to down as much water as possible..

Ughh even shopping don't do the magic for me....

Asian Root.. Modern Leaves?

So yeah I've thought about this on Sunday and my brain can't stop harrasing me till I blog this off.

Can you imagine how good it is to wake up at 7.30am on a Sunday?
(are you kidding? anyone would kill for some extra sleep in!) But yeh it actually feels good... My Sundays were usually the earliest at 8-ish to 9, but thats because Sundays are usually the stay and enjoy home days, haha. I swapped it with Saturday this time.

Some time spent browsing mag while devouring my Sausage McMuffin, hmmm even that hunky lad from the gym don't come close. (actually he aint that hunky.. just that he looks boyishly charming, but a tad bit too old-fashioned-chinese-look; not my type)

A decent looking car pulled up and a late twenties to early thirties man stepped out (well he looked that age, unless he has been downing collagen pills then different story). And then his dad... a really old "ah pak" with a walking stick. My first thought? Wow, so fillial!! Taking his old man for breakfast on a weekend (instead of a woman he shags.. yeah I know I'm mean)

Anyway, that a very soothing sight.. you know, accompanying your parent/s. And I started to think, does this still happen alot here nowadays? Certainly not so in the West, but its also slowing fading away here...

I myself have always have meals with my momma at least a few times a month and feel pretty normal. But seeing another doing is feels a lil weird.. hehe.

So just a thought.. nice to know there are ppl out there who cares about their parents instead of chucking them into homes... But hell, I might end up in one hey? Since I don't fancy having kids.... bloody hell.

*grins* not that I'm unable to make them, I just dont have enough spaces in my fridge. I finished my bottle of tomato enzyme (it better helps in fighting off cancer!) and am so tempted to make another jar.

But a little lazy coz momma just gave me a bottle of papaya enzyme.. and golly its tasty! My greedy lil taste buds are yearning for the delicious berries mixed with papaya... yummmmm.. spoilt girl. ;)
